Finally! An Outline I Like!

REVOLUTIONARY LEADERSHIP

Louisa Joy Dykstra

Hi Reader!

One of the challenges writing this book is I have so much material from teaching and coaching leaders over the years, but I couldn't get all the pieces in an order that felt right. With some help from my editor (thanks Janie!) over the summer, and with some mind mapping this week, I think I finally have it! Here's a peek.

Of course now that I see it laid out like that, I think "Duh, that seems obvious." I guess that means it's right! My goal is for this to be a short, easy to read book that you can refer back to over and over in your daily life as a leader. Is anyone else old enough to remember The One Minute Manager? That's the style of book I'm going for.

Thoughts? Is there anything in particular you're looking forward to learning? Does that outline bring up any questions for you?

More soon!
Louisa

P.S. If you missed past updates, you can go back and find them here.

P.P.S. I'm sure the outline will continue to evolve, so don't save this email and compare it to the final version, k?

Hi Reader! I'm still here! lol It has felt easier to communicate on video lately rather than in writing, so my thoughts are ending up on Instagram. People are responding to my recent explanation of why there's no such thing as laziness or procrastination, so I thought I'd link it here in case you find it helpful too! Link to Instagram: Laziness & procrastination do not exist Let's see, what else is new around here? I have a photographer booked for some new headshots (because it's not 2017...

Everyone is talking about 2025 goals and resolutions, Reader. But FIRST, have you taken a few minutes to reflect and celebrate what went RIGHT in 2024? I know, it wasn't an easy year. I truly get that. BUT it will make an astonishing difference in your energy toward 2025 if you *deliberately reflect* on the good stuff that happened last year. Do you know the difference between toxic positivity and healthy positivity? Toxic positivity says ignore the bad, focus only on the good. Healthy...

REVOLUTIONARY LEADERSHIP Louisa Joy Dykstra Communication is on my mind today, Reader. Yesterday, a leadership change was announced in my company, and I had a lot of feelings about it. But less than 24 hours later, I'm feeling good. In fact, within about 2 hours of the announcement, I was feeling ok about it. I'd like to share my process in case it's helpful. This is what I did, and this is the pattern I always follow when changes happen. Process my own feelings about it. Privately. Discuss...
